well, have been laying low because of work and the flu, but was inspired to post again because anoop desai is in the final 13 on american idol.  i don't know what it is about him, but i love him.  hey, we've got an african american president; why not an indian american idol?

getting back into fall

trying to squeeze in this post so i can stick to my goal of posting at least once a week.  anyone watch "survivor china" last night?  tucker and i were really excited to see it.  it was good, but a little anti-climatic - we had kind of built it up in our own minds.

speaking of tv, why do they launch all the new shows at the same time?  don't the networks know that it's hard to watch so many new shows at once?!  why not launch more over the summer when tv sucks?

i am SOO glad it's fall.  it's in the low 90s here in austin, considered almost cool - ha.  although i have to say the rain made this a very mild summer, although very buggy.

cal's been sick this week, but he seems to have recovered, so of course now tucker is sick.  i'm waiting for bonden and i to get it so we can have the whole family incapacitated within the same week.

speaking of poison. we watched the first episode of "the real world - austin" last night. disgusting + juvenile; it's a real car wreck; we couldn't take our eyes off of it. honestly, i would be doing myself a favor by not watching; i am convinced that watching that show will actually make me stupid. and i have a horrible feeling that i will be watching it again. soon, i will be craving "the amazing race" like someone with a mcdonalds hangover craves fresh vegetables.

new show: celebrity charades

so, i read about this show somewhere and tuned into it last night - it was pretty funny! it was also cool because it really humanized the actors and it was great to see who was good and who sucked at charades. :-)

the real gilligan's island

ok, admittedly, this show is stupid.  but it's car wreck stupid - i can't help watching.  the challenges are amusing, but the banter in between challenges is pretty dull.  it's like retarded survivor.  for the first challenge, they had to make fire, and mary ann was trying to start fire with a hammer and steel wool.

american idol

ok, so josh, amber, tucker and i have an american idol thing going where we try to guess the losers each week. right now, the scores are josh: 13.5 amber: 11 angi: 15 tucker: 14.5 but i went back through my american idol spreadsheet and realized i forgot one week!!!!! this is not good, because it was the week nikko won, so josh definitely has at least 1, possibly 2 more points. what am i going to do???

oh yeah! totally forgot to talk about mario leaving american idol! oh, well, it's old news now. last night, everyone except me voted for lindsay; i voted for jessica. so now in our pool, josh is in the lead with 7 points, amber and i are tied with 6 points, and tucker is still bringing up the rear with 5 points.

american idol - guess the losers

so we recently got tucker's cousin, josh, and his wife, amber, to get hooked on american idol; they had never seen it before. now i think they are taking it to the next level: we've started an american idol scorecard, where we each guess who is going to get voted off, and we're going to keep track all the way to the end. so far, amber is in the lead, josh and i are tied for second place and tucker is bringing up the rear. when tucker submitted his guesses, he went back and reviewed the re-caps on tivo - he is putting way too much thought into this and i think that's why he is last, haha!

amazing race: hypocrisy!!

tonight's episode was great! there was a wonderful fast forward that was awesome. for the fast forward, you were required to SHAVE YOUR HEAD. so, the christian couple made a really smart decision to take the fast forward, because everyone was making bricks. but, once they got there, they couldn't do it!! both the guy and the girl couldn't stomach the idea of being bald. can you believe it??? VANITY prevented them from taking the fast forward and potentially leaping to the front of the pack. throughout this whole race, i've been really disappointed by this couple. they're supposed to be christians and modeling the way, but so many times, they've behaved so poorly and in a non-christian manner.
