...but bonden sleeps for a 6 hr stretch at night. hee hee. for any of that have had to deal with newborns, you'll know that this is a near miracle for a two month old. i can hardly believe it, and i am bracing myself for this precious gift to be snatched away from me at any moment.
AND
...cal gets up to pee and go back to bed all by himself now! it went in stages:
first: wake up, sit in bed, yell "i have to pee!". mama stumbles over, go to the bathroom, pee, back in bed.
then: wake up, open door, stand in doorway and yell "i have to pee!". mama stumbles over, go to the bathroom, pee, sing a song, then back in bed.
then: wake up, open door, walk to our room and say "i have to pee." we both stumble to the bathroom, pee, sing a song, then back in bed.
this stage went on for a couple of weeks. we discussed trying to get him to pee by himself, and we even had a conversation with him about it, but then i told tucker that it's not that bad, so we can hold off on pushing the issue. then one morning, i turned to tucker and said "hey, cal slept through the night!" and then it happened again and tucker said "did you empty the potty last night? because there was pee in it this morning." and we looked at each other and at the same time: "is he peeing all by himself in the middle of the night?!"
that night, tucker comes to bed and says "ok, i just made sure the potty is empty. so we'll see if there is anything there in the morning." the next morning, lo and behold, there's pee in the potty! it was like some twisted, reverse version of the tooth fairy. tucker asked cal "did you go potty all by yourself in the middle of the night?" and cal doesn't miss a beat and responds "yeah."
and now he's done it five days in a row. i have actually had relatively uninterrupted sleep for almost a week - it's a miracle!!!!!!!!
