wow, was my last post really over 2 weeks ago? how can that be? so much has been going on. i can finally say that a major transition is going on in my life: i'm leaving my job! i shouldn't divulge details because i don't want to be dooced, but after ten plus years at one company, i am moving on. at first, i was sad and reluctant, but now i am so excited! i don't have anything lined up yet, so we'll see if i change my tune.
let's see, where have i been the last two weeks? first i was in india, working on a project there. then i turned around and flew up to vegas for a training that started on saturday. did i tell you that my trip back from india was totally crazy? first, i flu from delhi to london. then, small layover, and i thought i was flying direct from london to houston. WRONG. i have to go through chicago first and get cleared through customs. then small layover, and onto houston. rather than wait 4 hours at the terminal, i decide to rent a car and drive back to austin. so, after like 30 hours of travel, i finally make it home.
one day of downtime at home, then the next day i fly out to vegas with cal. all things considered, he was a pretty good traveler. get there, and start a 4 day training on saturday. by the time monday rolls around, i am totally out of it - it feels like thursday. finally finish the training on tuesday. and i was supposed to take the exam on thursday, but i have way too much work piled up, and my registration didn't go through, so back to austin i go. finally, i feel like some semblance of normalcy has been restored, although that will be fleeting. next week, one of my teammates from india will be flying over to spend a week with me to transition my role. it's a huge relief really, and i am starting to count the days/weeks until my last day.
