well, after the fire of 2003, this year's thanksgiving was calm and uneventful. a week of continuous rain threatened the thanksgiving celebration, but thursday came and was clear, cool and bright. i think the baughs had about 50+ guests this year. some of the cool traditions that i look forward to each year:
- turkeys being smoked in the horno
- everyone (all 50+!) gathering in the kitchen for the invocation
- all the side dishes
- over a dozen pies
this year also marked the opening of the "peach creek cafe". shirley and jerry practically gutted their kitchen and upgraded with commercial appliances and added a ton of things to the barn. it's wonderful and homey and looks great!
